Aveiro is a city in central Portugal situated near the Atlantic coast on the edge of a large coastal lagoon known as the Ria de Aveiro. Often called the Venice of Portugal for its canal network and colorful moliceiro boats, it is also known for its Art Nouveau architecture and production of ovos moles pastries.
