  Published within the last 12 months. The blog is the primary purpose of the site, not a section within a professional or commercial page. On its own domain, not a platform subdomain.

  Readable

  Loads quickly with a working layout. No ads, paywalls, or interstitials. Has a meta description. Served over HTTPS.

  Identifiable author

  The author is a real person with some visible information about who they are. Author is based in a real, identifiable city, not just a country.

  Good citizen

  No hate speech, discriminatory, or harassing content. Has an RSS or Atom feed.

How submissions work

Anyone can submit a blog. Every submission is reviewed manually against the criteria above. If it passes, it gets added to the directory with its city and country.

If your blog is not listed within 5 business days, it has been reviewed and did not meet the criteria.

Countries and flags

Each listing shows the city and country the author writes from. Country names and flags are generated from ISO 3166, the international standard used by browsers, banks, and postal systems. The same list is applied to every entry, with no exceptions.

A flag records where a writer is based. It carries no claim about sovereignty, nationality, or citizenship. Blogroll is run from Canada under Canadian law, and countries are not relabelled at the request of any government or third party.
