Turin is the capital of the Piedmont region in northwestern Italy, situated at the confluence of the Po and Dora Riparia rivers at the foot of the Alps. It was the first capital of unified Italy and is known for its Baroque architecture, its automotive industry as the home of Fiat, and the Shroud of Turin.
