Altamura is a city in the Metropolitan City of Bari in the Puglia region of southern Italy, situated on the Murge plateau. It is famous for its DOP-designated bread, baked in wood-fired ovens, and for the nearby discovery of Neanderthal remains and dinosaur footprints.
