Swansea is the second-largest city in Wales, located on the coast of Swansea Bay in South Wales. It is the gateway to the Gower Peninsula, the first area in the United Kingdom to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the birthplace of poet Dylan Thomas.
