Cebu City is the capital of the province of Cebu and the oldest city in the Philippines, located on the eastern shore of Cebu Island in the Visayas. It is the principal city of Metro Cebu, one of the most significant metropolitan areas in the Philippines, and is known as the site of Ferdinand Magellan's arrival in 1521.
