Pretoria is the administrative capital of South Africa, located in the northern part of Gauteng province about 60 kilometers north of Johannesburg. Known as the Jacaranda City for the thousands of jacaranda trees that line its streets, it houses the Union Buildings, the official seat of the South African government.
